Texas: The Relevant State

If you're like me and you live in the Lone Star State, it's easy to not pay attention to the political seasons as they come and go.  Since 1994 when George W. Bush defeated incumbent Governor Ann Richards, Texas has been a stronghold for the Republican party.  Due to this fact, my vote has long since seemed irrelevant as the Republican candidate would always take the state with ease.  This year is refreshingly different.  While the state will still likely give McCain it's overall endorsement, the Democratic primary has been fun to watch.  We're actually seeing TV spots for Obama and Clinton who have spent $7 million and $4 million respectively in their combined Texas and Ohio marketing.  What will be interesting is if Hillary will halt some of Obama's perceived momentum among independents due to her recent red phone ads.

Even McCain, who was resting this weekend at home in Arizona came out with this video in response to Will.i.am's "Yes We Can" Obama endorsement:

Ok, so I lied about that last one, but that's just funny.  - John Herrington

I'll be glad when tomorrow is over. I'm tired of all of the tireless (and mostly meaningless) demagoguery.

I'm Cam Beck and I approve this message, because America deserves better than what we're being offered.

great stuff.

@Cam - I love when I can feel your bitterness through your comment.

@Blake - This is why it's fun to be an American. You and Cam couldn't disagree more. It's greatness.
