Nonpartisan Words of Encouragement

Now that the U.S. elections are finally over, I want to extend an olive branch to all of those who either took part or were interested observers.

To Democrats
Congratulations! You got what you've been wanting for a very long time. May it be as wonderful as you hope it is.

To Republicans
I know you were less than thrilled at your choice in this election, but look at it this way: Sometimes it takes a Jimmy Carter to find a Ronald Reagan. Get to work, figure out what you're for and why you're for it, and maybe you can come back strong in 2010 and 2012.

To Constitutionalists, Declarationists, and Libertarians
... Sorry, y'all. You're still screwed. But at least you're no more screwed now than you were before.

To Capitalists worried about Socialism
Get to work! Even Karl Marx knew socialism can't exist without your constant contributions. - Cam Beck

Good advice Cam. As a Libertarian I am going to try to think less about how my values might be ignored and more about hope; more about being united as one people with political differences; more about personal responsibility; and more about how I can support hope and a better future for all.

Hey, thanks for the encouraging words, Cam! Time to start thinkin' ahead...
