Our First Den Meeting

All spiders are venomous, but most aren't harmful to us. They usually hae just enough to paralyze or kill their prey. The only ones that are really harmful to us (in this area) are the brown recluse and the black widow.

Our den leader, on the other hand, found some brown recluses and froze them. Also he once got bit by one, and it swelled up the whole lower part of his leg.

He said that some people get a big chunk of flesh cut out of them. Man, I hope I never get bit by one!

Welcome Home the Troops

We went to welcome home the troops, but we had a hard time finding the terminal. It took awhile to get there. Here are the first troops to come through.

We lost, but we had fun at the pinewood derby race.

Got In Trouble

Today was horrible, because the whole class missed recess. Everybody was arguing over what caused us to not have recess. On top of that, most people were getting in trouble for goofing off. Even me. My friend had to stay out of class until he finished math. Everyone thought our teacher was strict.

A Snack Gone Horribly Wrong

At my day care it smelled like dog poo... No offense to all you dogs out there. It was only because one of my friends put crackers in the microwave. He thought it was for thirty seconds, but it was actually set for three minutes.

If you were there, you would have seen smoke outside. We had to throw it out there because the stench, and it was almost on fire.

Now the whole building smells like that.

More Spiders

My friend and I were in a field, so we flipped over some grass that was mowed. There was something amazing. I picked it up because it looked like a stone, but it wasn't. It was a nursery spider and it had an egg under it! But David squished it. Well it was good while it lasted.

Planting Trees

We went to Camp Wisdom and met Darren's family to plant trees. I wasn't that excited when we picked up 60 of them! We were going to plant them, and it was about a mile-long walk to get there.

Finally, we got there and started planting trees. We went off the trail, and I found a snail or a slug. It was repulsive and disgusting. It pooped in our hands. After planting a lot of trees we found earthworms, too.

Once we were headed back, Darren found clay and was collecting it. Then we finally arrived where we started. My legs felt like spaghetti that just came out of the microwave. I was gasping for water, but we had to go home to get it.

I learned that planting trees can be exhausting, but fun at the same time. I'll probably go back next year to do it again.

Baby

Last week my baby sister was born. She is the cutest baby I've ever seen. Her eyes are as blue as the sky.
